Want to make money from UKG? Two words – Anthill Mob

The Anthill Mob

It still baffles me. A lot of the time they are mediocre at best. They have a marmite vibe to them – you either love them or hate them. But it seems that if you want to sell any of your old record collection, Anthill Mob are the gang to go with.

The labels Confetti and LPU (Love, Peace & Unity) are now iconic. Having a full set of these records is one of the most prized possessions of any UK garage DJ. This will explain the extortionate prices people are prepared to pay for these classics.

A simple look at the last few weeks on eBay show the lengths people will go to just to show they own a piece of garage history.

As I say, this is just a look back at the past few weeks. A lot of these vinyls have been known to go for much more. It’s also amazing as a lot of these tracks have been bootlegged.

It just leaves the question – What makes The Anthill Mob so special?

They’re just pure quality, not much else to say on that. For that price I might have to sell my spare of the ‘Set You Free EP’ though. Anyone know if they’ve got any more new stuff coming, last thing I had was the ‘Upfront and Back to Basics EP’….

It is a strange one because allot of the tunes go for allot of money, but yet, they are actually not that rare, for example: ‘confetti doubles’ this is in fact not that hard to come by as in, it pops up allot, yet it will go for £80 – £100 every time. For me the price on this comes from the tune ‘flava’ this is undoubtedly one of ant hill’s best productions ever, a true classic. For me though, the enchanted rhythms double back does it for me, ‘enchanted rhythm’, ‘Yeah! Yeah!’, ‘Desire’ etc. all massive tunes, therefore making the double pack allot more desirable, they are just GOOD tunes. However, their return has been a slump, brining out an e.p. that was very poor, and charging 8.99 – 9.99 for it, just because of the name… all i can say is, release the mystic mat remix of ‘when i think of you’

The reason these are sort after is because confetti did not sell to any old shop and distributed solely on their own.
