Crate Riders

“Back in 2000, I was set to put out a vinyl containing a tune called “Sunshine” by the notorious Melrose & Fabin. Sadly this only ever reached the metalwork stage, and was demoted to the occasional radio spin. I know there are still a few bods out there who are after it, so you’ll be glad to hear it’s about to re-surface on Melrose & Fabin’s “Crate Raiders Volume 1”. The CD EP will also contain their second project, “Love Me” – a largely unheard production from the same year.

While the “Sexy Thing EP” was unashamedly old school House, Crate Raiders will provide a little something for all.

There are multiple remixes of both tracks – including the original set from 2000, plus some brand new edits from Undertone and others. To this end, I’m currently deciding how many I can fit on the CD. In the Breaking Down tradition of value, there’ll also be a “hidden” treasure in a CDROM area of the disc.

SS51

As promised, each CD release will be teamed with a free Sunday Session mix. SS #51 goes back to the original format of providing your ears with fresh new underground House music, and will be bundled with the Crate Raiders EP. More details on this will follow upon release – but if you like your old school House & Garage, then you might be surprised as to how much you enjoy this CD of new music.

Packs will be sold in selected London shops, and also at the Broken Wax store.

Release date is set to “September”, so keep your eyes peeled at Uptown or join the mailing list on the front page of our Broken Wax site
