Anything But Monday - fit

You may have heard rumours that Control-S are drifting away from garage. Well their latest release will may just start the debate again. Control-S are back with a bassline mix of Anything but Monday’s Bump. We here at SnF think it’s a bassline BANGER.

Hear the track and find out more inside!

Anything but Monday are a tasty all-girl group from the good ol’ US of A. Control-S originally did a remix of Bump for Universal Records, which is being promo’d at the moment. The original mix was a commerical/funky house kinda flex, which Control-S say was them “being a bit experimental with our sounds”. By all accounts the group, and Universal loved the mix and has been chosen as the lead mix for the single which should be out on digital download shortly, with a possible vinyl/cd release if all goes well.

Control-S were then contacted by Bass Bytes Recordings, a brand new label from the US that is currently putting together a remix compilation of Anything But Monday’s tracks. They liked their mix of Bump but wanted something a bit more raw and bass-heavy. So they asked Control-S to have a go at a bassline mix.

The end result is kind of a cross between bassline and electro house that is a brand new take on the genre. Martin from Control-S said “I guess it’s our take on bassline as apposed to following the ‘standard’ formula of bassline.”

Martin added “We ARE still making 2-Step and have a few bits in the pipeline, but we’re also keen to push our sound to other markets and get some more styles under our belt. Don’t forget you can catch us playing in Russia at A2 Club, St. Petersburg this Saturday night (07/06/08)”

You can listen to Bump (Control-S Bassline Mix) below, which is due for release in the near future.

Don’t forget you can still get copies of the last Control-S smash – the remixes of Kyla’s Do You Mind featuring MC Majestic on In Ctrl Recordings.

Control-S will also be playing at Slick n Fresh’s 1st Birthday Bash @ Herbal Nightclub, Shoreditch on 05/07/08.
